Kenny McGalem Dark punishing riffs with the spirit of Korn and the crushing instrumentals of Nemertines make for a tremendous beast of an album! Niverlare demonstrates powerful grooves in all the right places and the chilling atmosphere is complimented well by the old school vocal delivery, leaving your skin crawling. With an overwhelming sense of apprehension and dread carefully placed, this album is a malevolently poignant effort. Favorite track: By A Thread.

about

The main theme of this record is the crippling feeling of being held back. Whether by your inner self, others, or a greater force.

I have been going through times during which I couldn't get anything done or even leave my home without some inner self of mine interfering. Sometimes this "weak inner self" can become so overpowering, that you can feel it corrupting your mind more and more.

Furthermore, Relapse is a song about a former lover of mine. A love interest so strong and at the same time unfulfilling, because the affection was not returned. Then you think that you're finally over it and something inside you pulls you right back - A relapse, of some sort.

credits

released May 29, 2016

Written, recorded and produced by Philipp Fischer (Niverlare).

Vocals and lyrics for Relapse. Catharsis and A Necessary Evil by Michael Schires. A huge shoutout to him for being a great guy to work with and a killer, raw vocalist.

Another huge shoutout to Benjamin Rijsdijk (Dayviewer) for all the EP Artwork and great cooperation.

Last but not least I'd like to thank my brother (from another mother) Caynug for the years of inspiration and help along the way.
